Accounting and Tax Applications Program
Purpose: The Accounting and Tax Applications Program aims to train professionals who will meet the needs of accounting and tax departments in accounting or consultancy firms and commercial companies.
Vision: To be a program that is preferred and held up as a model in its field—characterized by an application-oriented educational approach—that trains qualified professionals who stay abreast of current developments and technological innovations in accounting and taxation, continuously enhance their professional knowledge and skills, adhere to ethical values and professional standards, and contribute to accurate decision-making processes through the analysis of financial data.
Mission: The objective is to train qualified professionals who possess up-to-date knowledge and skills in accounting and tax practices; are capable of maintaining accounting records in compliance with relevant legislation and accounting principles; can prepare and interpret financial statements; are proficient in the use of computerized accounting and office software; adhere to ethical values; possess strong analytical thinking and problem-solving competencies; and are able to adapt to evolving professional and technological conditions.
Program Description: This is an associate degree program that aims to provide students with professional and academic qualifications.
Admission and Registration Requirements: Students who have graduated from the Accounting and Finance departments of vocational high schools can apply to programs within the Accounting and Tax Applications Department by taking advantage of ÖSYM's exam-free transfer option. Additionally, if there are available quotas, students who have taken the ÖSYM exam from other high schools or equivalent institutions and have achieved the required score may also enroll.
Recognition of Prior Learning: Education and training activities are carried out by taking into account the balance between students who transfer from Vocational and Technical Education institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education (MEB) through exam-free transfer and students who transfer from other high schools or equivalent schools based on their ÖSYM exam scores.
Graduation Requirements: Students graduate from the program by completing 120 ECTS credits. They are also required to complete an internship, each consisting of 30 working days, at the end of the second semester.
Measurement and Evaluation Principles: The ASÜ Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations are used as the basis for measurement and evaluation. In-class activities are implemented by the department faculty at the beginning of the semester.
Employment Opportunities: Qualified personnel who perform accounting operations in a computerized environment are in demand in the business world. Graduates who successfully complete the Accounting and Tax Applications Associate Degree Program work as assistants in the accounting, finance, and auditing departments of public and private organizations, in the offices of financial advisors and certified public accountants, and as accounting clerks in banks, insurance companies, and in tourism, construction, and industrial enterprises. They can also work as electronics technicians in design development, maintenance, repair, production, and application stages in many institutions and organizations working in biomedical, industrial automation, home appliances, automotive, and industrial electronics.
Transition to Further Studies: Upon completion of their associate degree, students can continue their undergraduate education by taking the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) administered annually by ÖSYM and transferring to faculties related to their fields specified in the DGS catalog.
